1 in 10 'plan to take cars abroad'

Around one in ten Britons are planning on taking their car abroad on a driving holiday through Europe, according to research.

The study by American Express also found that 32 per cent of people are planning to go on a caravan holiday and travel by car to a destination, while 27 per cent said they would go on a camping break if they could get to a site abroad.

Commenting on the findings, Chris Rolland outlined that insurance can be important for people planning on using their car in a foreign country.

"We would like to advise Britons to ensure they have the correct cover in place to give people a greater peace of mind, allowing them relax and enjoy their holidays," he explained.

Britannia Rescue spokesperson Emma Holyer recently urged motorists to take out breakdown cover after research by Liverpool Victoria revealed 70 per cent of people in the UK would not be able to repair their cars.

The study also found that 37 per cent of motorists do not understand lights or warnings on their dashboard.ADNFCR-1054-ID-18601137-ADNFCR
